President's Comments - Spring 2010
Thank you for the opportunity to serve the Sunflower Chapter over the past year. It has been a productive year with the sunflower Chapter’s offerings of quality education programming, career and professional development, and networking.
HFMA’s theme for this year was “Making in Count”. I wish to personally thank those individuals who assisted me in this endeavor:
The current officers and board members who were supportive every step of the way – Martin, Laraine, Elgin, Devon, Hilary, John, Julie, Gale, Marion, and Mike. As I “hand off the baton” to Martin, I ask that you continue to make decisions based on vision, mission, goals, and values.
Committee chairpersons who worked behind the scenes this year to make sure the chapter functioned effectively and efficiently:
- Hilary Dolbee who coordinated educational programs
- Eldon Schumacher who contracted with the many facilities to make sure our needs were met
- Tish Hollingsworth who managed the formidable task of registration
- Terry Pound who produced a new and improved newsletter
- Jenny Knudson who managed the website flawlessly
- Jo Ellen Wilson who produced the membership directory
- Kecia Kesler who insured that sponsorship is strong
- Lori Lackey who tracked the founders points
- Gale Whitehair who coordinated new member recruitment activities
- Becky Newton who led the professional excellence committee
Finally thank you to the committee members who work with the people I just mentioned – you too are the reason for the Sunflower Chapter’s success. Getting involved in Sunflower Chapter activities will give you the opportunity to make our Chapter even better. Contact me if you’d like to get involved in a committee. I’d love to hear from you!
